Good
Vibrations
Mick Moore
Have you ever read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
or The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles? Both
of these books carry a similar theme:
help someone to reach his or her success and yours is sure
to follow.
Two of my favorite quotes are: “Success is achieved and
maintained by those who try and keep trying” and “Whatever the
mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. Both
quotes, for me, are the cornerstones for creating wealth and I
would eventually come to realize their long term value.
So let me ask you a simple question, “What does creating wealth
mean to you?”
Here are a few of my answers when I was asked this very
question! (This is what I believed at the time anyway!)
1 - A consistent income created from an honest days work
2 - A healthy and happy family
3 - A loving wife
4 - A nice car
5 - A beautiful home
6 – A sleek 36’ sailboat
There are a few other things, but they are either directly or
indirectly related to what I have listed above. Even now, when
I look at this list, I seemed to have “hit the nail on the
head.”
Within three years, I had accumulated all of the above;
although the boat ended up being 27’ instead of the 36’ I had
been envisioned. Notice, I used the word “accumulated.” That’s
because after reaching what I thought I had dreamed of, it all
slowly began to fall apart.
Where was I going wrong?
What was I doing wrong?
Whose fault was it?
Why now when we seemed so successful?
A plethora of questions passed through my mind and I began to
blame myself. I found myself making bad decisions. I had become
comfortable and bored.
I had begun a slow and personal downward spiral that took away
my belief, my self-confidence, my motivation and my focus. The
thing that really hurts when I think back is that, I just
didn’t care anymore. I began to think that the world owed me. I
was a good person so I should be rewarded.
Thankfully, I realized that my way of thinking had gotten in
the way. I was no longer creating wealth; I was striving for
success and my thoughts had become clouded.
I want to share a situation my mother, Paulette, found
herself in only a month prior to the writing of this chapter
and how thoughts, when left unchecked, can wreak havoc on our
abundance.
She received a call from a collection agency and, upon
returning the call, found the company she had been using for
Internet service wanted their modem back and had turned her
over to a collection agency regarding the matter. She
floundered around on the edge of anger but, mostly, was just
scared.
She was worried about hurting her pristine credit
rating!
Then her debit card was declined while trying to make
a purchase online. Her account had been flagged for some reason
and the banks response was that her pin hadn't been activated
and by simply using any ATM, the card should be
fine.
This was strange because she had been using the card
for several months and hadn’t had any problems.
The last straw was when she couldn't open a file a
client had sent and therefore was unable to complete a small
job for the client. All of these factors kicked in a fear
response: bad credit, identity theft, and failure as an
editor.
Keep in mind; this all had occurred in the span of one
day.
Then, she had an epiphany!
Her sudden realization was that we all vibrate at a
certain frequency - this is nothing new - and that when we
become upset, the rate of vibration changes and we start a
downward cycle. If we can keep ourselves stabilized, then we
needn't go into that cycle and slide backwards in our
acceptance ratio. We create our own reality, therefore, we are
the master of our fate; our fate being the manifestation of our
daily lives.
We love being up and being happy and we all want to
live our lives so that we remain at that level rather than in
the dumps or the doldrums. Right thinking works and it is the
building blocks for creating wealth!
The results:
The next day, she received a call from the cable
company. Her account was just fine. They found that she had
paid for the modem but if she wanted to return it they would
refund her $90! She hadn't been turned over to a collection
agency but rather to a department within the cable company and
the flag had been removed.
The ATM accepted her card and she drew out enough
money to pay Jesus and put a little in her wallet. By Jesus, I
mean the migrant worker that helps my folks maintain their
estate and avocado grove.
She had already decided it might not be a good thing
to work with the client on the book the client was creating and
her inability to open the file was her 'guidance' to that end.
The thought of being a failure as an editor was moot. We have
an outstanding guidance system and need only listen, even if we
need a kick in the butt first!
Well that’s the past and here we are today!
I have found that the secret to “Creating Wealth” has been
available to each and every one of us since birth. It is the
thoughts we think and the actions we take.
Here are seven steps I have laid out to help you begin creating
wealth:
1- Gather all the knowledge, skills and opportunities you need
to accomplish the goal you have set for yourself and apply this
study without procrastination. This alone will raise the odds
of success in your favor.
2- Be sure you take whatever you want from life, no matter how
hard and difficult it is. Just do everything possible to
increase the probabilities of getting it, no matter how big or
how small. What you do will make a difference in success or
failure in getting what you want.
3- Organize and set in motion a plan for your life, a plan you
will follow to raise the probabilities of creating your wealth.
State your goals and how you will accomplish them, what are the
events, tools and people you will require in creating your
wealth. Don’t leave anything to circumstance. You are the one
who controls the outcome.
4- Follow the steps of successful people, do what they have
done to achieve the same results.
5- Work from a position of passion rather than one of obsession
and choose a career you are passionate about, one that suits
your abilities, skills and your natural talents.
6- Leverage the talents of others. Don’t do tasks beyond
your abilities hoping for better results. Concentrate on
your strengths and the strength of others to accomplish your
goals.
7- Have an attitude of gratitude. Give thanks for what you
already have instead of concentrating on what you don’t have.
So many people have little hope of accomplishing even the
simplest of dreams and entertain thoughts of lack rather than
abundance.
Your gratitude only widens your acceptance and brings you
into harmony with the divine and the vibration of - Wealth.
My ancestors held ceremonies thanking the Great Spirit for
the sun, the rain and the return of the Buffalo every spring.
Their wealth was measured by the quality of life of everyone in
the tribe. People today barely make time to thank the waitress
for bringing them coffee or water.
In the end, your life is the results of your efforts over a
period of time and your reward is the results from your work.
Creating wealth starts with a clear vision and a strong belief
in the outcome. Our thoughts are powerful and holding on to
negative beliefs only hinders our progress.
Stay in that higher vibration of happiness, gratitude and
abundance. You’ll be amazed at your accomplishments and the
people you will attract to help you create REAL wealth.
