Turn Your Passion into a Pay
Check
Mick Moore
Have you ever noticed how
certain goals that you set for yourself seem to manifest almost
by magic? Not one
stumbling block, criticism or doubt seems to stop this type of
goal from becoming a reality. Then you have other goals
that seem to run out of steam before they even get off the
ground. Ever
wonder what caused that first goal to skyrocket to success and
manifest, even if it was more challenging to achieve than the
second? The answer
is Passion. Passion is the deepest desire
to be number one or to achieve a goal or desire, no matter what
the sacrifice.
Think of the dreams or
plans you’ve set for yourself over the past ten or twenty
years. Take a look at which goals or dreams you made a reality
and which one’s fell short. If you look closely, you will
see a trend in those which were successful and those which
failed. It’s
probably pretty obvious which goals you were passionate about
and which ones were not really that important to
you.
Look at your career, the
car you drive, the house you live in, your family or the person
to whom you may be married. Are you passionate about any
of these things? Or have you become the “Living
Dead” dissatisfied with your career and personal
life.
When we look back, we can
definitely see which goals we were passionate about compared to
the goals that were something we only wanted at the time and
ended up losing interest in when something else caught our
fancy.
Let’s take music for
example. Some would say I had a fairly successful music
career. I played
with some of Rocks most popular bands. I recorded several albums that
are still selling today, and remain friends with the some of
music’s most notorious celebrities. Yet could I have gone
further? Could I
have become more successful? The answer is a resounding
YES!!!
Of course I could have,
but the passion was no longer there. As soon as I started thinking
about a new direction and new goals, the music career began to
wind down. The
music and shows didn’t have that fire
anymore.
Setting a new goal of becoming an Internet Entrepreneur
and creating multiple sources of income from the Internet
would be my main focus.
Goals are like a seed
that you plant in the backyard. If you water it and nurture
it, it grows. You
don’t have to dig it up everyday to see if the roots are
spreading, you know it’s going to grow because you take care of
it. If it gets
cold outside, you bring it indoors. If it’s dry, you water
it.
A goal you set for
yourself is the same way. You tend to it everyday.
Metaphorically, you water it by taking action and doing
whatever needs to be done to move that goal to the next level.
You don’t give up
if you don’t see immediate results. Just like the plant waiting
to sprout, you know the magic is taking place, because you are
passionate about what you are doing and know that with
persistence, your plan or plant will bear
fruit.
The challenge now is to
find that passion in every goal you set for
yourself. Is there
passion in your work, in your love life, your family?
If not, you may
want to re-evaluate your current situation.
Many
people have been lucky enough to find a new passion that not
only includes music, art and technology, but has allowed them
to make a substantial living working from home, working at
their own pace, doing something they really feel passionate
about.
It’s called… The Internet.
If your goals are to
become your own boss, make more money and spend more quality
time with family, I encourage you to look to the Internet. The
Internet provides an incredible and limitless assortment of
career possibilities. There are sales driven product sites,
information and consulting sites, web design companies, and
people buying and selling collectibles.
The Internet continues to grow significantly in every major
demographic area. With nearly 80% of Americans using the
Internet, it's time to find your passion and turn it into a pay
day!
There’s
no time like the present to find a new passion for living
and create new goals that will set your dreams and
aspirations into motion. I did it and wrote the
best selling “Home Business Success Kit” to teach others
how they can do it, too.
So let’s get started… I
want you to create a list, numbered 1-5, of ten things you
enjoy doing more than anything else, like golfing, fishing, or
being funny. Now create a second list 1-5 of the things at
which you are most talented. This may include cooking, or
bike riding, or telling stories. Get together with family
members or friends and have them start crossing things off both
lists that they feel you’re not that good at until you have one
“favorite” thing left and one “talent” thing left on each
list.
If you find that story
telling is left on the passion list, look back at how many of
the goals or dreams you had that were somehow connected to your
creativity.
If you find that writing
was left on the talent list, look back at how many of the goals
or dreams that you had that were somehow connected to your
ability to write.
The things you write on
those two lists share the passion needed to achieve your goals
and dreams. The
more items from both lists that you bring into play, the more
motivated you will be to finish the goals you’ve set forth.
Naturally, the opposite is true. If you didn’t have any of the
items from your two lists involved in a goal or dream, you
probably gave up and quit on that goal long before you really
got it started.
With this in mind, take a
long hard look at the current list of goals you're working on
and see how many of them are really what you want to achieve
and how many of them allow you to actually utilize your given
traits and talents.
Do you have enough
personal passion and drive behind your goals to insure you’ll
go the extra mile and successfully accomplish the goals you’ve
set for yourself? You may need to reevaluate
these goals to see if they ignite that passion and spark that
will keep you going through the exciting, challenging, and
possibly, difficult days ahead?
I
encourage you to make several of these lists and share
them with a partner, family and friends, so you can get
an unbiased evaluation of your true gifts and
talents.
With this list in hand, there should be no doubt as to
where your passions truly lie.
I feel
so blessed to have not only found my passion - of helping
others discover the entrepreneur in themselves - but
achieving the amazing goals I’ve set forth in my own
life…
