The Premiere of The Power of Mentorship with Don
and Melinda Boyer 8:58 PM PST, December 7, 2007, updated at 8:20

I went to the Premiere for the movie, The Power of Mentorship,
last night. The evening did not disappoint. Amid men and women
with large-bodied cameras on the Red Carpet, I whipped out my
little Canon Power Shot and snapped away at the Glitteratti
with the best of them! Of course, I had to work double fisted,
because there's no sound attached to my camera, so I'd thrust
my tiny digital recorder into the happy melee when I wasn't
snapping. Good stuff! I'll post some of the photos on my
website at TRI Studio (www.tri-studio.com) and on The Mother
Daughter Club Radio Show (www.themotherdaughterclub.com). I'll
also work the short interviews I got with some of the stars
into a segment of an upcoming show. I interviewed Marie Diamond
and Bob Proctor (I got one question each - they are in
demand!), but it was heaven! Both have a strong, fresh and
clean energy - the air nearly hums around them.
Many other wonderful people were there, including Vic Johnson,
Mick Moore, DC Cordova, Yasmine, omigosh...I was so happy to be
at the same party with all of them! The movie was produced by
Don and Melinda Boyer, fascinating people in their own right. I
interviewed Melinda for The Mother Daughter Club show, who was
a wonderful guest! Everytime I turned around at the party, I
met a new, incredible person with an equally incredible story!
The theatre and lounge were filled with them.
I sat next to Marvin and his girlfriend, Marnina, in the
theatre. Both were marvelous young people living their dream to
help others. Their site is Find Your Freedom at
www.findyourfreedominc.com. Marvin sold real estate for a
while, but found it unsatisfying. When he quit to become a life
coach, everything started falling in place, and it seems he's
doing very well. I also met a gentleman named Frank Blaszcak, a
warm fellow who shared with me how humor has buoyed him in
life. I chatted with "Big Justin Wayoro" on the Red Carpet, who
had the biggest camera of all! He talked about moving from New
York to California and we kidded about the culural differences.
His company is www.thebigjcompany.com. I aslo talked with
"Hurricane Annie" aka Annie Armen on LIVE Talk Radio. You can
"buckle up, tune in, and JAM with 'Hurricane' Annie" at
www.anniearmenlive.org. I chatted breifly with Gigi Grose,
program manager for the Learning Annex. I'd love to talk more
with her - maybe on the Mother Daughter Club show!
So many fun and interesting people! I finally sat down to eat
next to two young women who had similar passions to my own -
working with children...but I didn't get their cards, probably
because I was eating. Hopefully, they will get in touch with me
because I gave them both a book, a bookmark and a CD of The
Mother Daughter Show. Finally, I said good-bye to Melinda
Boyer, who had invited me to the event. I hadn't been able to
get close to her because, as hostess, she was in constant
demand of course. When I said good-bye, I noticed her eyes.
There is such a sweetness in them! I wish I knew her better,
because I think I like her a lot.
I should tell you about the movie, shouldn't I? haha! It
carries a powerful message - how can it NOT with players like
Bob Proctor, et al? It's a story based on the true life events
of Don Boyer, who had a mentor share with him the secrets of
his success. Don put these principles to work in his own life,
and has built quite an enterprise with his company, Real Life
Teaching. Those secrets are shared with viewers via Don and the
numerous movie "mentors." I will undoubtedly watch it a few
more times (they gave us a DVD). I think the movie is a perfect
fit for TV - the visuals work well for this medium. On the
large screen, a talking head is just a little too large, but on
a television screen, it looks just right. I mentioned to
Melinda that I envisioned widespread distribution for the movie
through TV (I'm thinking maybe cable channels) and she said
they were interested in creating a series.
That would be awesome if they could get the same
people to play in it. If you liked The Secret, you will
also like this movie. I recommend that you buy the DVD
and add it to your collection of movies that lift the
spirit! www.thepowerofmentorship.com
